Statue of d’Artagnan in Auch (Gers, France)

The statue of D’Artagnan, designed by Firmin Michelet in 1931, sits proudly on the banks of the River Gers, at the base of the imposing monumental staircase. This edifice, which rises from the historic town to the new town over a drop of 35 metres via 234 steps, offers a magnificent view of the region. The statue depicts D’Artagnan standing, dressed as a musketeer, with a fist on his hip.
