Peter Hyams’ version of D’Artagnan is all stunt kung fu and Jean Pierre Castaldi (it’s a good combo). You can tell from her blank stare that Catherine Deneuve is wondering what she’s doing here.

The most positive points are the filming locations, where French southerners will be able to recognise their favourite spots (Jacobins cloister and Capitole de Toulouse, Gers…).
