The Three Musketeers
Publisher: Plein Vent
A 3-volume series to be released between 2023 and 2024 covering the entire novel by Alexandre Dumas.
First period (15 Feb. 2023).
The adventures of d’Artagnan and his musketeer friends are among our fondest childhood memories. The Three Musketeers represent friendship, courage and the impetus of youth. The young Gascon d’Artagnan, dreaming of becoming a musketeer, meets the unforgettable Athos, Porthos and Aramis.
Second era: Twenty years later (15 Feb. 2023).
Two decades later, the musketeers are separated, each absorbed in his own life. The Fronde divided France, pitting d’Artagnan, loyal to the King, against Athos and Aramis, who supported the rebels. Despite this apparent rift, a mission to save Charles I of England and the appearance of the fearsome Mordaunt, Milady’s son, rekindle their unity.
Third era: Le vicomte de Bragelonne (06 Nov. 2024).
In the 1660s, d’Artagnan, still a musketeer, accepts a final mission. Aramis, now a bishop, hatches an ambitious plot to replace Louis XIV with his twin brother, known as the Man in the Iron Mask. This final instalment is tinged with melancholy, marking an ending that is as grandiose as it is tragic.
