Located in the heart of the Hôtel national des Invalides, the Musée de l’Armée offers a 15,000 m² exploration of French history through military and war events. As a museum of history, fine arts and science and technology, this institution, founded in 1905, houses one of the most impressive collections of military history in the world, comprising almost 500,000 items such as uniforms, weapons, armour, drawings, paintings and photographs, covering the period from the Bronze Age to the 21st century. Visitors can also explore the famous Dôme des Invalides, which houses the tomb of Napoleon I. With 1.2 million visitors a year, the Musée de l’Armée is one of the busiest museums in Paris.
